Introduction to Handbuilding/Open Studio with Georgia Naranjo
Facemasks will be required as well as following posted health/safety protocol
Classes available Tuesdays and Thursdays 10:00am - 12:30 & pm 1:00 pm - 3:30 pm
This class will take the beginner student through each step of slab and coiled based handbuilding with demos and ongoing help through the class. You will be familiarized with terms, tools and processes, supporting your creative vision. You will build projects from choosing your own idea, or being inspired by the pieces intended gallery, applying techniques you learn to create a piece that is uniquely yours. This is a fundamental easy class to enjoy, inspire, and explore clay work as an artist!
All students will be required to initially purchase a Clay kit, that includes 12.5 lbs of Clay, glazing and firing (scheduled) The kit cost of 462.00 pesos will be added to your first class booked. A tool kit will also be required at 532.00 pesos. Any additional classes booked you will be able to opt out of the Clay kit, until you need more clay.
Those who have been former students or are back from previous years are welcome to take the assisted open studio class to continue on your ceramic journey.
Wheel Throwing Clay
Class available Fridays 1:00pm-3:00pm
Facemasks will be required as well as following posted health/safety protocol
Students will be guided in Demo based instruction on the electric potters wheel with hands on practice, each student gets their own wheel to use during the class. You will be learning basic techniques, necessary for progressing as an artist in clay using the potters wheel and the myriad of techniques it offers. Its recommend to take at least 3 classes to see finished ceramic pieces.
